Agony Aunt
Your dilemmas solved thanks to our agony aunt: RidleY S.Wate
Reader: My ‘best friends’ are calling me a freak, I’ve told them something private, and now they are making me feel insecure, what if they tell someone? –Anonymous.
Ridley says: If these people were really your friends, they would not be calling you names. They should be supportive of your trust in them. You could possibly confront them and tell them how their words are affecting you, a true friend should understand. Otherwise, you could speak to a teacher or parent in order to receive additional support. |
Reader: I’m really self-conscious about the way I look and what people think of me. Insecurity has always been a problem for a long while. Should I be worried?
Ridley says: Many teenagers are worried about these things and it’s natural to feel like this in the modern world. To boost your confidence, try making more friends and talking to other people, however know that you don't have to rely on others to make yourself feel better. Surround yourself with positive people and be a positive person to be happier. Become confident with yourself, and your self-esteem will increase, which in turn will make you less self-conscious. Don't worry about what others think, because, in the end, your opinion of yourself is the only one that matters. No one should look or be the same because we are born different. Everyone is unique in their own way, including you. |
