Fred the cat
Soft, tiny, cute and sweet
Small with little fuzzy feet
Whiskers wiry, ears so warm
And they twitch whenever his name is called.
Freddy, once a matted stray
A leaf was where his head once lay
But now adopted, and it seems
He now has better, greater dreams.
Dreams of chickens, ham and beef
He can now have them in his teeth
Five minutes after leaving the shops
He has all the meat, there, in his chops.
However, mad cat doesn’t last
In seconds it is in the past
His wet pink nose and emerald eyes
And heart as pure as the blue skies
His sweaty paws and scented fur
Smells like a baby after birth
His delicate head, looming ‘bove yours
Or next to it, whilst he softly snores
And don’t forget, he's always there
He looks out for you because - he cares.
